This elegant set of Uchigatana Koshirae comes with high-quality metal fittings of good luck charms. You may be first attracted to Mitokoromono with the design of Tawara Nezumi. Kozuka-kogai has an inlaid high-relief on Shakudo-nanakoji, applied with a gold painting with hairlines; the straw bag and the purse are presented with charming expressions. Menuki is made of gold bronze and silver, as well as with a gold painting. The face of a mouse is hidden under Tsukaito, although its large ears poking out on the both sides appear as if the mouse is observing us. Both sides of Fuchi-gashira apply Shakudo-nanakoji, elegantly expressing Nibanso Okina-no-mai with a flute and a mask of an old man. Tsuba has a shape of an Ise lobster engraved in a gold bronze base. Its engraving is plump and alive, with long yielding tentacles that look as if they are ready to twitch.

Saya applies Kuro-ro Japanese lacquer. Probably due to this Japanese lacquer, it retains massiveness that gives a stunning impression to Saya. From this piece, we can feel not only the mere impact of a color but also the level of appearance quality achieved only by the Japanese lacquer. Originally there was a small dent near the end of Saya, which has been completely fixed with the Japanese lacquer. This allows you to fully enjoy the spot-less color of onyx-black.

The length of Tsunagi, a wooden dummy sword, reaches 69.3 cm. Judging by the appearance, it seems that a blade made by shortening a Tachi from the late Kamakura Period by Osuriage technique was once fitted in place of this piece. It must have been a noted sword!

The straw bag and the mouse, Nibanso, the Ise lobster – these are all lucky charms signifying affluence, longevity and health. Attaching a vigorous sword to this set of Koshirae would be an expression of deep and precious love that wishes for the health, longevity and long-lasting happiness of your family.

It is our wish that this Engimono-zsukushi Uchigatana Koshirae, a set of high-quality fittings, with your own precious sword would bring you lasting happiness.
