Kyo and Yatsuhashi are the words that carry legitimate Japanese fragrance. Yatsuhashi is one scene from the famous “Azuma-kudari” by a poet of Heian Era, Ariwara no Narihira’s Azuma-kudari. It is very Heian-like scene, gracious, artistic and noble. Swords are the legitimate tools of Samurais, thus it is quite surprising and a completely new idea to transfer such elegance of the court to a sword accessory. It tells us the rich spirit of people at that time. The color of Kakitsubata (irises) blooming in Yatsuhashi; the sound of breezes over a creek and that of water --- Very luxurious.
